There’s no commitment up front. Check us out.

We’ve been here since the beginning…

The U.S. Army activated the first “Air ROTC” units in 1920 and then 77 Senior Division Air ROTC units in 1946.  With the birth of the Air Force in 1947, these units were converted to Air Force ROTC units. The popularity and success of the program has resulted in its growth to 145 detachments. Air Force ROTC’s mission is to recruit, select, train, retain, and commission United States Air Force officer candidates. Detachment 390 first contracted with the University of Michigan in 1952. Since that time this detachment has provided training to thousands of candidates and has commissioned more than 950 new Air Force and Space Force Officers.
